Vilnius' TV tower

On January 13th, 1991 Russian soldiers wanted to occupy the TV Tower. Lots of people gathered round it to defend the Tower and Lithuanian independence. Their only weapon was joined arms and songs. But thirteen innocent and armless people perished there. They were driven over by tanks or shot. At the place of their destruction only young lime-trees murmur there. On the ground floor there is a museum to the victims of January 13th.
